November 2024
Greetings, Friends!
We hope that you and your family enjoyed wonderful Halloween and Veterans Day celebrations, and with Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season quickly approaching, we wanted to send along this gentle reminder of our big show coming up this Saturday night, November 23 at Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, NJ!!
Our special new program is called HAPPY FRANKS-GIVING! – Swingtime Big Band Salutes Sinatra. Since this beautiful theatre is located only 13 miles north of Hoboken (where “Old Blue Eyes” was born), and since Frank’s birthday is just a few weeks later, we thought this was the perfect occasion to celebrate his legacy, with a focus on his collaborations with another favorite son of New Jersey—the legendary Count Basie! And, of course, that means we will showcase our own wonderful vocalist, Zack Alexander, who was the 2016 winner of Hoboken’s ‘Sinatra Idol’ contest. You won’t want to miss this one!
We will feature music from nearly every decade of Frank’s illustrious career--from the 1930s to the 80s—with a special emphasis on ‘the swingin’ 60s’ and his collaborations in studio and on stage with both Count Basie and the prolific arranger-composer-producer Quincy Jones (who we sadly just lost at age 91).
Tickets for this special Nov. 23 show are still available, with seating prices at $29, $39, or $49 each, and you can purchase yours online (CLICK HERE) or by calling the box office during regular hours at 201.227.1030. BUT WAIT! As we usually do, we are very happy to offer our dear friends and fans of Swingtime a special 10% discount on your purchase of up to four tickets! Just use the codeword SWINGTIME when you order to receive that discount.
Please check our website regularly for additional dates that are added to our schedule, and you can also check out our Facebook page for news alerts and postings of videos, and please be sure to Like and/or Follow us there to see our regular posts.
We hope to see you in Northern NJ this Saturday night, and please pass this along to anyone you know in the NY/NJ Metro area who might be interested in attending. And let me also take this opportunity to wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving and a joyous Holiday Season (including a Happy Franks-giving for his 109th birthday on December 12!)!
Swingingly yours,
