Hello, Friends!
We hope that this latest issue of The Swing Times finds you and your family healthy and happy, and we also hope that you all enjoyed a lovely Valentine’s Day. I can tell you that we had a fantastic Valentine’s celebration back on Feb. 13 for our Love Notes concert at The Madison Theatre, and I want to send out a heartfelt ‘Thank You!’ to all the folks who came out and gave us such a warm reception!
It’s hard to put into words how excited we are to be back on stage performing for in-person audiences again, but I think that excitement comes out in our playing, and the wonderful cheers and applause from the audience makes us even more eager to perform again! And that’s a perfect lead-in to announce our next show at a brand new venue for Swingtime!
I’m delighted to share that we have been engaged for Swingtime’s debut concert at the wonderful Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington, NY on Sunday, April 3 at 2pm! We will present a fun new show entitled Swing into Spring, featuring a host of hits from the Big Band era and classics from the Great American Songbook!
With the arrival of spring, we will celebrate the earth's re-awakening with this sunny program, featuring music from iconic bands such as Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman, Ray Anthony, and Les Brown. Plus, our two entertaining vocalists will salute some of the greatest singers of our lifetime, with 'gal vocalist' Bobbie Ruth featured in 100th birthday tributes to Doris Day and Judy Garland, and our ‘guy next door,’ Zack Alexander honoring the immortal Frank Sinatra.
The Landmark’s lovely Jeanne Rimsky Theatre is a terrific venue on the north shore of western Nassau County, with great acoustics and excellent sightlines from anywhere in the house. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Feb. 25, so please be sure to get yours before it sells out! Here is a link to their website for your convenience, or you can also call their box office at 516-767-6444.
With the coming of spring, each day gets a bit longer and brighter, and so we are looking forward to a gorgeous Sunday afternoon on April 3, and we hope you will come Swing into Spring with us!
In the meantime, take good care and we hope you stay safe and warm for the rest of the winter months!
Swingingly yours,
