December 2021
Dear Friends, During this joyous time of year, we like to celebrate ALL the Holidays (including Frank Sinatra’s birthday on Dec. 12!), so all of us in Swingtime want to wish you and your family a fun and festive celebration of the season, and only the best for a happy, healthy and musical New Year! We are so grateful for our return to live performances earlier this year, and we are even more excited and hopeful about how things are shaping up for our concert schedule in 2022! We begin with our return to the Madison Theatre at Molloy College to celebrate Valentine’s Day! On Sunday, Feb. 13 (3pm), we will present our ninth annual program of classic love songs from the Swing Era and the Great American Songbook, and this year’s all new show is entitled LOVE NOTES: A Swingtime Big Band Valentine! This is always one of our most popular concerts of the year, so you won’t want to miss this one, especially since we will include a special 100th birthday tribute to legendary vocalists Doris Day and Judy Garland, and renowned arranger Neal Hefti, who famously collaborated with Count Basie and Frank Sinatra. And as a special Holiday present to you (or for someone to whom you may want to give a musical gift!), we are delighted to offer a special 10% discount on tickets for our Feb. 13 concert! Just use the code word LUVNOTES when you buy your tickets online or at the box office (516-323-4444), and for your convenience, just click here to make your purchase. And speaking of gifts, here is a musical one from us to you! We’re sharing a video from our 2018 Holiday show at The Madison Theatre (as seen in the photo above), and it is indeed a slightly tropical one! Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters created an instant Holiday classic in 1950 with the Hawaiian Christmas song, Mele Kalikimaka,, and we hope this brings you a bit of Holiday warmth and joy, so just click here to see and hear Zack, Bobbie and the band offer up a little taste of Christmas Hawaiian style!

Also, if you need any last minute Holiday gifts for that Big Band lover in your life, we still have our Swingtime face masks available (seen here modeled by band super-fan Joanne). These high quality masks are very comfortable and breathable, made with 3 layers of 100% cotton, and, of course, feature the Swingtime logo! It seems like we will need to wear masks for the foreseeable future, so here's a way for you to look cool and feel good while supporting your favorite band! It’s only $10 per mask, and for our SPECIAL HOLIDAY DEAL, we will waive the shipping charges if you buy two or more masks or other items.

We also have our limited edition Swingtime black logo t-shirts available (seen here modeled by the lovely Bobbie Ruth on stage at one of our shows) which are only $20 each (sizes M, L, XL, 2X or 3X), as well as both of our CDs (“Live…From New York” and “In Living Color” @ $10 each). Please contact me either by return email or call 516-876-8324 to order whatever you like (and again, with shipping costs waived if you order multiple items!) While I can’t guarantee that you will receive your package before Dec. 25, I will remind you that Christmas is actually twelve days long, so there is still plenty of time to get the package delivered to you before Twelfth Night! Before I sign off, let me wish you and yours the happiest of Holidays, and we also offer a toast to a great 2022 for all of us! We hope that your New Year is filled with joy, good health, peace and love, and we look forward to seeing you in the months ahead. Swingingly yours,
