We hope that you and your family enjoyed a wonderful Independence Day weekend, and especially a spectacular and safe July 4th Holiday yesterday! Now that summer has indeed officially arrived, I am delighted to announce that Swingtime is back in high gear for our summer 2023 season!
Our kick-off concert this month takes place on Sunday, July 9 (3pm) at The Madison Theatre at Molloy University in Rockville Centre, and we are thrilled to return for our 16th concert appearance in this wonderful venue, which we consider our musical home in Nassau County! For this very special occasion, we have created a fun new program that we call, SWINGIN’ ON HOME!
Since our debut performance in 2012, we are extremely proud to have become known as ‘The House Band’ at The Madison Theatre, so we will celebrate this musical homecoming with a host of swingin’ hits from the Great American Songbook--all connected to the concept of ‘Home.’ Just a few selections you’ll hear on Sunday include: You’d be So Nice to Come Home To; Baby Won’t You Please Come Home; Won’t you Come Home, Bill Bailey; Walkin’ My Baby Back Home, and many more!
Our high-octane band will come “Flyin’ Home” featuring the music of Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Harry James, and Gene Krupa, plus our engaging vocalists, Bobbie Ruth and Zack Alexander, will salute such legendary singers as Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, and the immortal Frank Sinatra.
Tickets are on sale now for this very special program, which will indeed be indoors in this beautiful and acoustically ideal theatre, where you can enjoy our show in air-conditioned comfort with great sight-lines from any seat in the house!
